Scent detection is an excellent way of training your dog to utilise their superpower; their nose! 

As UK Sniffer Dog Instructors, we are offering either a 5 week course of classes or a one day workshop in order to complete Bronze Level Detection Training. Both options cover the same content but in different settings.  Although we would recommend the 5 week class, we understand that some owners have time constraints between working hours. Our aim is for this course to be accessible to everyone!

We will be teaching your dog to search for a particular target scent then teaching them how to locate it and how to indicate to us exactly where it is. We will be introducing the dogs to line up searches on pots and pipes, chairs and bags. 

Every dog of any breed can take part in scent work they just need a nose! 

You will need a Red Kong (must be RED and Medium in size), plenty of your dog’s favourite treats, a harness, lead and flat collar. 

This course is great for young dogs with lots of energy, older dogs who might not be as mobile as they used to be, reactive dogs as we will be giving them a focus, working breeds who love to have a job and nervous dogs to build confidence…. It is also great fun for you as the owner and is a great way of strengthening the bond between you and your dog. 

Please do let us know upon booking if you feel your dog is reactive within the presence of other dogs so that we can manage this effectively within the group setting. 

These classes are a 5 week course and £120.

We also offer a 2.5hr workshop that costs £75. Once you have completed a 5 week class you can take part in UK sniffer dog trials.
