Having been bought up with golden retrievers and flat coated retrievers, I got my first working cocker in 2007 with whom I competed in agility and fly ball. I currently have Olive, another working cocker. I am delighted to be able to put my interest in behaviour into practice with my own dogs. I decided this was the career for me.

I have always loved animals and studied agribusiness management at the Royal Agricultural College. I then spent quite a bit of time in Africa on conservation projects. We captured and collared a leopard and helicopter mustered buffalo. We also saved a baby rhino as its mum had been killed by poachers. I helped looked after her and worked with Born Free at Shamwari in South Africa. I then moved into the African travel industry where I got to travel to Africa twice a year.

I’ve always been interested in the behaviour of dogs, the importance of their first experiences in life and their ongoing relationship with their owners. I joined Best Behaviour in early 2020 and have seen first hand how a dog’s experience shapes their behaviour.  By working with owners we are able to counter condition behaviours we don’t want to encourage, which gives a great deal of satisfaction and relief for owners!
