We are thrilled to share the highlights from the 2nd Annual Applause for Paws, held on 2nd June 2024. The event was a tremendous success, thanks to the participation of our wonderful community and their amazing dogs.
Event Highlights:
- Educational Sessions: The Dog Trust delivered an insightful session on ‘How to be Dog’s Best Friend,’ alongside engaging presentations by Best Behaviour School for Dogs.
- Fun and Games: Attendees enjoyed various classes, including Loveliest Lady, Handsome Boy, and Best Trick. The enthusiasm and spirit of competition were evident as dogs showcased their unique talents and charm.
- Community Engagement: Beach Buddies and Retired Greyhounds Canterbury were among the notable participants, adding to the event’s vibrant atmosphere. Megan and Naomi were on hand to answer everyone’s behavioural questions throughout the day.
Training Insights with Pippa: In a special session, Pippa shared invaluable training tips emphasising the importance of timing in rewards and corrections. She demonstrated how to effectively manage behaviours such as jumping and aggression, highlighting the role of immediate responses and appropriate rewards.
